Fear List | Connection is a Thing of the Past
I love to smile and laugh. In fact, when I do, people often thank me because they didn’t realize they needed to hear it. Happiness and lightness can shift the vibration of the room, so why are people doing it less?
Programming. We are being programmed to watch negativity on our devices, read about it in magazines and consume other people’s problems for entertainment to escape our own. Here’s what I’m learning about the dying art of healthy connection, communication and collaboration.
We don’t even talk no more.
If you know that Dru Hill song, then you understand what ‘m saying. If I am in America and I say hello to someone, they roll their eyes or look at me with suspicion. We don’t trust each other anymore. And rightfully so, the media is showing us all of the ways to get or become divided. It’s how the actions of few affect the interactions of many.
But, I’m not on here just talking about problems. I believe it’s smart and healthy to come up with solutions. And the first one is… baby steps. A smile. Please don’t talk to each other yet. Be like babies. You have to crawl before you can walk. You learn how to smile long before you learn how to talk.
What I need from you is understanding.
I‘m tired of us trying to ‘Xscape’ drama. Meet it head on and deal with it like adults. We have to allow each other the opportunity to heal. Stop opening up and picking at wounds that haven’t fully healed. We have to be mindful of pack mentality and begin thinking individually instead of collectively. What do I mean by this? Just because something is a problem for others doesn’t mean it has to be a problem for you.
I am an independent thinker, and for that reason, I exhibit lone wolf behavior. I don’t mind conflict as long as we can harmoniously exist. How ca you come to an agreement or at least an understanding if we don’t communicate.
So what’s the solution, oh soapbox queen? Well, Have the hard conversations, agree to disagree, if need be. I don’t trust someone who agrees with everything I say and do. I don’t need a shadow, I need accountability. Sometimes, I’m wrong, but if you’re not willing to tell me so and have the hard conversations, you stunt my growth. And honestly, if you make me think I’m the smartest person in the room and I can’t learn from you. I lose respect. Because you must challenge me, as I challenge you, to be the best version ourselves.
Unbreak my heart.
Forgiveness is a thing of the past. Why? Because people don’t want to be held accountable for their actions anymore. I have been guilty of that, as well. No one is perfect. I believe what I have learned is forgiveness is for you and not the other person. I know people say this all the time, but bear with me, I have a twist on this. When you forgive, you release energy that you have been storing inside that limited your elevation and ascension. when I say I am here to help you release what no longer serves you, I mean just that.
In case you don’t get it yet, It’s not about the other person, it’s about you. It’s about unbreaking your own heart, saying you’ll love yourself again. It’s about reflection and seeing the role you played in the demise of a previous relationship. We are all toxic. I repeat, we are all toxic. Can you be the villain as well as the victim in your story?
So what did you learn today that you didn’t ask for? We are the source of our own pain. Intaking too much negativity, not letting enough things go to grow, and learning to healthily agree to disagree are three of the biggest takeaways of my fear. I fear we will never know peace until we release. I fear we will forget how to smile and laugh. I fear that human connection, communication, and indivuduality are things of the past. But I don’t want us to stay stuck. I would love to connect with you.
If you’d like a clarity call or a check-in to figure out where you are stuck and how to find positive purpose in a changing world. I am here for you. And if those are things you want, need or aren’t ready for, I’d love a follow on any of my social media platforms. I’d love to push the message of healing, purpose and accountability out there.
All my love,
Maya Lynne
